BIG NEWS!!!!

Dear Praying Friends,

God has been moving in my life and I want to share with you how! When God moves, it can be life changing! I have had the amazing opportunity to travel to Zambia, Africa over the past several years to do missions work with Gospelink at the International Bible College of Zambia.  Every time I leave, a piece of my heart remains with the people of rural Zambia. It was there,   in the bush of Zambia, overlooking the valley, where I knew God had a plan for me at Kazemba.

For the past several years, God has laid on my heart the desire to be in Zambia full-time, but I wasn’t sure how. During my trip in May, God showed me how I could be involved. He showed  me how the organizational skills and medical knowledge I have could help the clinic staff better serve the patients. I contacted Gospelink and shared my heart with them. They have seen the need as well at the clinic and how the skills that God has given me can help the medical staff and the patients.

Zambia is a nation that has many medical needs and the life expectancy of the 13 million people is about 35 years of age.  Many of these people travel many miles to get medical care, but will travel much further to get quality medical care.  How far do you travel to see your doctor?  Do travel by car or do you walk?  Those in the bush of Zambia travel for several hours by foot just to receive medical care that they need.  I want to make a difference in the lives of these patients and show them Christ’s love.  Gospelink has a medical clinic on the Bible College campus (Chifundo Clinic).  When I arrive in Zambia, I will be working in the clinic as the Office Manager. I will be able to impact the college community and the people of the surrounding villages.

Gospelink would like to see me on the ground in Zambia in June 2014.  That, of course, would take a miracle, and that is what I am asking you to pray with me about and to get involved with, if God so leads you.  To commit to pray for me and/or help me get to Zambia, please fill out the response form included with this letter.  I will need people to give one time gifts, and others to commit to give on a monthly basis.  Every gift is significant and every prayer will help me get to Zambia when God wants me there.  All I am asking you to do is pray with me about this opportunity, and respond how God leads you.  Will you do that?

The continent of Africa has more Christians than any other continent on the earth.  One of the great needs in Africa at this time is Biblical education.  That is why this International Bible College is being built.  There are currently 60 students from Zambia and Malawi studying on the campus.  In January, the new school year will begin with 75 students.  When the college campus is completed, there will be room for 600 students from all over Africa.  This is truly an amazing opportunity that God has invited me to be a part of.  Now, I am asking you to be a part of it with me through your prayer and financial support. I urge you to respond to this opportunity as soon as possible.  If you would like to learn more about the ministry of Gospelink, I would invite you to look at their website, which can be found at www.gospelink.org.  If you would like to participate in prayer support or monthly support, or would like to contact me directly, please feel free to do so by emailing me at shaloninzambia@gmail.com and I can share how you can be involved.

Thank you for taking time to read about how God wants to use me in Zambia and considering this exciting opportunity that is before me.  May God lead you and may you follow His leading.

Lesa Waina!

The Zambians are here!!!! The Zambians are here!!!!!

Students from IBCZ:  Samson, Oscar,
Lawrence, Kennedy,Harold, Godfrey, Derrick

An AMAZING opportunity: Travel to Iowa to see seven Zambian friends this weekend (September 21-25, 2013) from the International Bible College of Zambia!  It is SO good to see them and catch up with them.  I've also had the opportunity to get together with friends from previous trips, and meet "Facebook" friends in person.  Here's one of a few videos, and there are more to come (and pictures)...

Please pray for the students as they travel the Midwest presenting information about the College.  Please pray that they will adjust to the time zone (it is 7 hours difference from Zambia to the Midwest) and for health.  Their schedule is busy and among all of the travels, presentations, they also have to keep up with their studies.
