FOOD

The last couple of days have been a very interesting menu. njoka, Capenta, and fried caterpillars. My favorite was njoka. It was fun to see the reactions of many of the pastors and students. They wouldn't touch the choca or caterpilars. Maybe someday they will> My favorite was the njoka. (for those who are dying to know what njoka and capenta are....hmmm should I tell you? njoka is snake and capenta is fried minnows).
I think Saturday afternoon, Kelly and I made up for the njoka, capenta and fired caterpillars. Some of the team members brought cake mix and brownie mix. Kelly made them this afternoon. I helped make the frosting and frosted the cake. Unfortunately, some of the gooey brownies didn't come out of the pan, so we had to eat them. The frosting that was brought was a white fluffy frosting. I wasn't a big fan of it because I thought it tasted like marshmallows. I'm not a huge fan of them (but I will eat s'mores). Instead of waiting for the bonfire tonight with s'mores, Kelly made Kara and I s'mores....crackers (with coconut flavoring), dark chocolate, and the frosting. Needless to say, I left their house with a slight tummy ache. Oops :)
Tonight after worship, the Americans hosted a bonfire for all of the pastors students and ladies. Some had brought s'mores for them to make. Some of the pastors and ladies had never had s'mores. They really enjoyed it. They also liked eating the marshmallows without the chocolate and crackers.
