Well, it's been a busy few months working on the yearbook for the Seniors that graduated January 19, 2013. After many months of gathering pictures, editing, cropping and placement of pictures for the yearbook, it has been finished! To top it off, I was able to order a sample book on sale. The plan was to send it to Zambia for graduation. Well, due to weather, I didn't receive the book until the Wednesday before graduation. We were hoping to get the book to a girl in Iowa who was leaving Thursday. Because of the late arrival of the book to me, it wasn't going to make it Iowa before she left. In the end, it's good that I didn't stress or worry about it because their group was delayed in London from Friday morning until Monday afternoon. They missed graduation altogether.
My original intent for the yearbooks was to give one to each of the 12 seniors and the library. After I completed the book and the link was shared, I was told that a few people wanted to purchase the book. No problem, I thought. BUT what about the 12 guys who graduated? They are the ones I did this for. I would have to leave this in God's hands!
Then there came a GREAT sale for books. I called the office to find out how many books needed to be ordered and much money had come in for the books for the graduates. When I found out how much came in, my jaw dropped, eyes teared and I couldn't believe it! I was told for several months that nothing had come in. Enough came in to buy each of the Seniors a book, a book for the library and a for a missionary family that has been there for almost 4 years. I couldn't help but Praise God!
Now I know what will be in my suitcases when I go back in May. YEARBOOKS!!! I will be taking the 12 books for the Seniors, a book for the library and 2 books for missionaries who are at the college. I can't wait to give the guys their books!!! I am SO proud of them and excited for the next part of their journey!
Here is the link to see the YEARBOOK....
Another piece of news...I will be heading back to Zambia for 2 weeks May 3-18. I received my ticket information on Saturday. I will be flying from Chicago, meeting friends in Amsterdam, and then heading to Zambia. I am not sure what I will be doing, but there are MANY projects. The Dr is officially at the clinic and they are working on getting it opened. A group will be coming May 12 and will be working on building the orphanage. There is painting, cleaning, villages to visit, schools to visit and students to minister to. I will get the opportunity to spend time with Mildred (senior student that my parents and I support at the college). It will be a great time to build new friendships and get to know others more. Even though many of the students are on Facebook, it is much more meaningful to spend time with them.
I am seeking prayer partners for while I am gone. I would love to have 2 people per day praying for me. If you are interested, please leave a comment and I will contact you.
Thank you for your prayers!
