Deportation adverted!!!!!!!!! PRAISE GOD!!!!
This morning Davis, Henry and I headed back to Lusaka to work on my visa. We headed back to the Immigration Department after Davis wrote a letter regarding my visit. We found out there were multiple errors in what they had given me. They gave me a business visa for 15 days that expired on May 19, 2009. I arrived in the country on May 19, 2009. Hmmm...I should have had a visiting visa not a business one for 30 days not 15. So we were shuffled from person to person. We were told that I would need to apply for a work permit for K2million ($400) for 20 days. Hmm..We asked for reconsideration stating I was not working, that I was visiting and of all the mistakes. I ended up with.....DRUM ROLL PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!
A 30 day extension.....For no Kwacha. They realized the mistakes and God provided!!!
One of the main guys (Akhim Chale--? On spelling) realized last night that I seemed to be concerned about my visa. He called as we were leaving the office and Davis was able to tell him that all was good!!!!!!!
I guess this means that I'm not going to Zimbabwe, Botswana, or Malawi....That would have provided a fun story.
Thank you for all of your prayers!!!
